Training

When it comes to training, we provide a comprehensive package to equip new franchisees with the tools and knowledge to launch their business. With a combination of national conferences and workshops, and instructor-led and online training courses, there are myriad training opportunities to address both initial training and refresher courses.

Franchisees begin with a 12-week program in preparation of opening their first TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® franchise. We walk participants through initial first steps of operating a franchise, from purchasing trucks to developing a marketing plan. Each new franchisee is assigned a field trainer to help along the way in each aspect of the business and to support the franchise in the early stages of operation. In addition, new franchisees attend an instructor-led program at STICK MEN UNIVERSITY® in Lansing, Mich., where they learn how to use proprietary systems, techniques for marketing their business, effective hiring practices, and best practices to apply at the franchise. A two-story training home built inside the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK®/INTERNATIONAL, Inc. headquarters is also used during training classes. Students are taught how to maneuver, wrap, pack, and load items such as a china cabinet filled with breakables, a piano, a washer and dryer, and a gun safe. A built-to-scale truck box truck is also located in the training facility, and students successfully pack the back of the truck with items from the training home.

In addition to in-person training, we provide many resources for franchisees to train the rest of their move teams. We provide jumpstart training plans to train various positions within the franchise. These plans cover everything you need to know when training a new hire. STICK MEN UNIVERSITY® online is also available at any time, which provides more than 400 training modules that can be assigned to any employee.

A continuous series of live training events are conducted to keep the entire system up to speed on every aspect of the business. Those include an annual meeting and live and recorded webinars for franchises to access at any time.
